Kickboxing

Golden State Combat's kickboxing classes incorporate different techniques from Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, Western Boxing and Karate. Our classes consist of technical drills, pad hitting and guided/controlled sparring .

 

Kickboxing Fundamentals: Although a good class for new students, this is not a just a "beginners" class. This class covers fundamental skills of boxing, kickboxing and pad holding that remain constant at all levels of skill.  Fundamentals class builds and reinforces the foundation required to be a technical and skilled kickboxer. Subjects covered in this class include but are not limited to footwork/angles/distance, punch/kick delivery, intelligent defense and counters. This class is required for all new students regardless of experience.

Kickboxing: Fundamental concepts/techniques are reviewed in warmup while the majority of class will cover more complex and advanced subjects. This class consists of technical drills, pad hitting, Dutch style combo exchanges and technical sparring. This class is not recommended for new students.

Open Mat Kickboxing: On Sundays, GSC is open at 12:00 pm for members to come work out on their own and with each other. There is no class structure so you are welcome to do what you want during the period. Because there is no instruction, brand new students are not recommended to attend this class without some previous experience in the fundamentals class.
